Baldwin said love has never been a popular movement. But I think it has. I think love has always been popular, but hardly free and so not commonly given.
When you look at the pain and suffering going on in the world today, how easily we are to rip things and people apart than build with them, you realize that love is like the popular kid in the block who goes home everyday feeling lonely.
But Baldwin was right about one thing. The world we live in today is hanging on and held together, very delicately, by the love and passion of a few good people.
